If local officials gave citizens permissions to build new houses with different exteriors, the city would lose its uniqueness, which would have tremendously negative impacts on the city’s tourism industry.
Nevertheless, the downside mentioned above is still insignificant compared to broad-based benefits that the freedom in architectural designs can offer. On an individual level, if people are free to follow styles as they wish when it comes to building houses, their satisfaction and living standards are improved. In fact, having freedom in building houses means that owners have rights to choose from which colors they want to paint their house, how their kitchens look like to what household appliances they want to have so that they could meet their expectations. On a social level, the diversity of housing designs can make a city more appealing and attractive. This will help not only raise more aesthetic values to the local area, but also enhance economic chances, especially in promoting tourism.

First, this shows that the landscape looks uniformity without diversity in architecture. In fact, building with same style demonstrates the consistent landscape which makes people feel boring when they visit on these local areas. Another cause could be that people maybe not decide by themselves in the design and construction of their houses. In fact, these really look like to copy each other without any creative and distinctive pattern.
On the other hand, building new houses in their own styles with a little control on designing and building of authorities can have several advantages that outweigh these disadvantages. First, this helps an urban develop without sprawl and creates many different architectural styles. As the result, the city evolves harmony with high aesthesis and also has specific feature in designing. Another benefit could be that building with own styles brings the distinctive architecture with feature of local citizen. As the result, this attracts and appeals tourism to discover the city.
