Nowadays, the magnitude of natural habitats has not been widely known. Given that there are several reasons behind this, identifying them is key to finding appropriate solutions.
There are several factors responsible for lack of knowledge about natural habitats. First, this can stem from not living close to nature. In retrospect, people lived in harmony with nature as their survival relied on the surroundings, but nowadays people live in modern cities that are nothing more than concrete jungles, which disconnects them from the nature world. People’s insufficient insight into natural habitats can also be attributable to education systems. This is because many schooling systems have put more emphasis on academic knowledge, students have less chance to do other things like discovering wild life, making nature remain unknown to numerous students.
There are also various measures that can be taken to address the situation. One of them is incorporating green spaces into cities where people are residing. This not only brings citizens closer to nature so that they can value its significance, but also helps to alleviate severe air pollution in these cities. In addition, what appears to be the most important is that there should be a compulsory subject teaching about the importance of nature in schools, even in kindergarten. Not only that, students should also have trips to forests or seas besides theoretical lessons, which allows them to broaden their horizons about wildlife and appreciates the natural environment more.
In conclusion, despite several reasons that can lead to having little knowledge about the nature world, steps can be taken to ameliorate this issue.
