Cách Paraphrase trong IELTS

• Bên cạnh Hướng dẫn đề thi IELTS 21/11/2020 bài WRITING TASK 2 về Relocating Business to Regional Areas (kèm bài sửa của học sinh đi thi), IELTS TUTOR sẽ giúp bạn hiểu rõ hơn về kĩ năng Paraphrase cũng như một số phương pháp để các bạn có thể paraphrase một cách hiệu quả nhất
• Ngoài ra, bạn nên biết cách đảo ngữ cũng như các từ nối – Linking word sẽ giúp ích cho bài thi IELTS của bạn rất nhiều.

• Paraphrase là viết lại câu với nghĩa không đổi bằng cách sử dụng từ ngữ, cấu trúc khác để viết lại (ý nghĩa của chúng phải được giữ nguyên).
• Với những người học IELTS, kỹ năng paraphrase là kĩ năng rất quan trọng và cần thiết để đạt điểm cao. Kĩ năng giúp bạn trong cả 4 kỹ năng, đặc biệt là trong bài Writing và Speaking

• Tuy nhiên, IELTS TUTOR lưu ý nếu bạn paraphrase và lạm dụng bị sai sẽ khiến cho câu trở bị hiểu theo 1 hướng khác làm bạn mất điểm.

Kĩ năng paraphrase sẽ giúp bạn trong cả 4 kỹ năng của IELTS.

• Listening: đáp án được paraphrase từ nội dung bài nghe nhằm gây khó khăn cho người thi, thì bạn phải quen với kỹ năng paraphrase để làm bài tốt.
• Reading: cũng như Listening, câu hỏi sẽ không bao giờ viết y nguyên từ ngữ, cấu trúc như trong đoạn văn, mà nó sẽ được paraphrase lại.
• Writing: trong cả bài viết Task 1 và 2, phải paraphrase lại đề bài, không thể viết y lại được.
• Speaking: cần dùng từ ngữ khác, cấu trúc khác để nhắc lại đề, nếu bạn lặp lại y như examiner thì chắc chắn điểm bạn sẽ không cao.

• Paraphrase bằng synonym, nghĩa là đổi từ này thành từ khác đồng nghĩa, ví dụ thay vì dùng affect thì dùng influence.
• Mà muốn biết cách paraphrase sao cho chuẩn thì phải tra từ điển synonym:

• Đây là phương pháp đơn giản nhất, để dùng phương pháp này bạn cần phải có vốn từ vựng dồi dào, đặt biệt là những từ có nghĩa giống nhau.

• Beautiful = good – looking = attractive = gorgeous = appealing = charming: xinh đẹp
• Smart = intelligent = clever = brilliant: thông minh
• Big = huge = enormous = vast: to lớn
• Increase = raise = rise = go up: tăng lên
• Boy = male = men: con trai

    • Most = Many = A majority of
    • People = Participants
    • Participate = take part in = join = engage in = enter in
    • Think = claim = suppose
    • Great = wonderful = amazing
• Ví dụ 4:
  •  ​Using renewable sources could stop people from destroying the rainforests ==> Using alternative sources such as solar energy and wind power can deter people from damaging the rainforests.
    • Renewable = alternative
    • Stop = deter/ prevent SB from doing ST hoặc halt people from doing ST
    • Destroying = damaging

• Ví dụ 5:

Strict punishments for driving offences are the key to reducing traffic accidents

• Strict IELTS TUTOR có thể  paraphrase thành harsh / stringent / severe / strong
• Punishments IELTS TUTOR có thể  paraphrase thành penalties
• Driving offences  IELTS TUTOR có thể  paraphrase thành traffic law violation / breaking the law

IELTS TUTOR Lưu ý :

• Không nên paraphrase lại tất cả các từ sẽ rất rối, chỉ paraphrase những chỗ cần paraphrase
• Trong IELTS WRITING TASK 1, nếu không Paraphrase được Những Tên Category trong biểu đồ thì đừng cố gắng Paraphrase bậy, dẫn đến bóp méo, gây khó hiểu và biến đổi nghĩa của cả category

• Điểm quan trọng tiếp theo, khi các bạn đã biết từ synonym của từ muốn Paraphrase rồi, cần phải biết cách dùng các Collocation của những từ đó nhé

Cũng giống như các dùng từ đồng nghĩa, khác với cách trên là bạn dùng từ nghĩa và thêm 1 từ phủ định: not, less …. để paraphrase

• Bạn có thể paraphrase câu lại bằng cách thay đổi dạng của từ như động từ thành danh từ, danh từ thành tính từ, biến verb thành cụm danh từ….

    • Strong (adj) → Strength (N), Strengthen (V), Strongly (adv)

  • Change (V) → Change (N)
  • Frequently (adv) → Frequent (adj)

  • Nếu dùng phương pháp Word form có thể biến đổi thành như sau:

• Trong một câu văn nếu có hai mệnh đề, sẽ có thể “paraphrase” bằng cách thay đổi trật tự (thứ tự) của hai mệnh đề này.

5.3.1. Mối quan hệ nguyên nhân – kết quả

5.3.2. Mối quan hệ tương phản – đối lập

5.3.3. Mối quan hệ điều kiện

Chúng ta sẽ thêm chủ ngữ giả “it” vào đầu câu, sau đó viết lại câu gốc
