|Opinions are divided into whether doing exercise or keeping a balanced diet is more important when it comes to health. From my perspective, both are equally important.
On the one hand, it is understandable why some believe regular workouts can ensure good health. One of reasons could be that engaing in physical activities helps enhance physical stamina. For example, people can keep their backbone healthier, or even stronger just thanks to walking or running on a daily basis. Not only that, exercise can improve people’s immune system and prevent them from diseases, either minor or serious. Plenty evidence suggests that those who participate in physical activities like swimming or jogging have less chance to suffer from common illnesses, such as cold, than those who do not.
On the other hand, a healthy diet is also as important as exercise. The first explanation could be that a nutritious diet can provide sufficiently nutrients, which are crucial for staying healthy and prolonging human life. In fact, vitamins, protein or essential minerals are fundamental nutrients, and exercise can do nothing with them as they are only transferred to human’s body through food. In addition, both food and exercise are key elements to health, and they supplement each other. Imagine that if a person spends hours on burning energy on the gym, but he eats lots of junk food afterwards, he just wastes his time as the work out will mean nothing, let alone keep him in good fit.
In conclusion, it is admitted that exercise is of importance to people’s health, but keeping a balanced diet is also vitally important and should not be neglected.
