(7) Be snowed under heavy workload: có nhiều công việc phải làm

Nowadays, having little leisure time and being under pressure are issues that many youngsters have been facing in some countries, raising concerns among the public. Given that this pattern stems from several reasons, identifying them is keys to proposing workable solutions.

There are some main factors responsible for having little time for entertainment and being under pressure of young people. One of them originates from parental pressure. In fact, in some countries, parents tend to put more expectations for their children, particularly in academic outcomes, thereby they usually force their children to have supplemental tuition, which makes children lack time to relax and suffer more strain. Also to be considered is didactic programs in some educational systems. For example, in Vietnam, children in primary schools have to learn a lot of subjects including scientific modules that should be taught in their later years.

Nevertheless, various measures can be taken to alleviate the situation. One of feasible solutions that should be done first is to change parents’ attitudes about their children’s study, helping in reducing parental pressure. For example, educators or educational organizations could propagate parents not to expect too much and put much pressure on their children’s academic performances and help those parents realise the importance of balancing studying with entertainment. Furthermore, heavy curriculums should be reformed. In fact, there is no need for children at primary schools to learn academic knowledge, therefore unnecessary academic subjects should be removed so that kids have more time to play.

In conclusion, while the reality that many young people in some countries spend a vast amount of time on studying and are snowed under heavy workload results from many reasons, steps can be taken to ameliorate the issue.
