In recent years, there has been a growing trend towards immigrating of professionals from underdeveloped and developing countries to developed ones. While this move has raised many concerns, especially for governments as it breeds many detrimental effects, there are still methods that can be taken to tackle this pattern.

It is clear that there are several issues resulting from this trend. What appears the most serious can be the scarcity of the workforce, especially experts in academic fields in poorer countries. For example, Vietnam has suffered seriously from brain drain as many well-educated teachers have moved and settled in the USA or European countries, leading to the inadequacy of lecturers at universities. Another problem could happen to affluent countries as the competition for study or job opportunities increases. Consequently, despite being talented, those who cannot compete with others would not be able to attend colleges or would become jobless, which in turn would place more burdens on governments in developed countries.

Nevertheless, various measures can be taken to alleviate the situation. First, it is admitted that many doctors and teachers migrate to developed countries as those countries offer them better benefits and incentives, such as higher salaries or better education chances. Therefore, it is poorer governments who should pay more attention on retaining talents by ensuring that they are well-paid and deeply cared. Furthermore, there is a reality that numerous professionals are given chances by governments to move to developed countries for exchange programs or getting higher education, and they do not come back. In order to deal with these cases, conditions of coming back, even strict punishments, should be included in agreements between governments and professionals.

In conclusion, despite many problems that can be derived from migrating to developed countries of professionals, steps can be taken to address the situation.
